Our school is located in the south eastern part of Italy in a region called Apulia that only recently has become known and appreciated by tourists. It is showing wider, although still shy signs of growing specialized industries in such fields as aeroplanes and medicine. Our city is called Ruvo di Puglia it has little more 25.000 inhabitants. It has a specific agricultural vocation with touristic interesting places related to the historical and cultural tradition of the city, this year it has been given the status of "City of the Arts". Our school is a public primary and nursery school attended by 248 pupils in the nursery school with 34 teachers and 533 pupils in the primary school with 67 teachers. The economic crises of these last years has had a meaningful impact on families' incomes, anyhow no profit associations and a shared solidarity, very common in our area, have mitigated the effects. Our attention is now focusing on children of the new arriving migrants whose parents are unable to find any kind of job and who risk social exclusion. By promoting the Erasmus projects, we want to develop our policy of social inclusion, encourage creativity and innovation paying a great attention to children with special needs, children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds and migrants. With Comenius projects, before, and Erasmus plus ones, now, we have tried to make our pupils become more open minded. Regarding the staff, Mrs Angela Ippedico as a teacher, has coordinated all the 4 European projects , she was awarded the Italian and European quality lebel and she is active on the E.twinning platform. She has also coordinated a project that has provided the school with a language assistant. She has been and still is the contact person of the Comenius and Erasmus projects. All the teachers involved in all our European projects have always given an enthusiastic and qualified contribution. The encouragments and contibution provided by our headmaster Mr. Panebianco Angelo and vice headmistress in the person of Mrs Vincenza Malcangi have been of great support to the success of all our European experiences. In case Mrs Ippedico Angela were unable to fullfill her task, Mrs Malcangi Vincenza would substitute her. Our school has started its partecipation in Comenius projects in 2002 developping 4 of them and creating a net of teachers that are still in touch and are able to give suggestions whenever required. Our 3rd project gained the Italian and European quality label. We are also a school associated to UNESCO. So we have an appreciable expertise in this field. We are trying to innovate our didactics by developping the CLIL methodology above all related to art and technology, STEAM activities, Coding and Robotics and we provide our pupils in year 5 with the Trinity certification. Our school participated to an European contest held by the Ultimaker Education challenge winning a 3D printer.
