Integracyjnymi im. Krolowej Jadwigi w Wolominie
Our school issituated in a block-of-flat area of Wolomin, at the outskirts of Warsaw. There are 880
students, age 6-13 and 68 teachers (due to new system of education implementation, soon we will
cater for 7. And 8. grades what means students up to 15 years old in the project time). Some of our
students live in difficult socio-economic conditions (unemployment, single parents, families with many
children, immigrants, pathological families). There are some special educational needs students
(ADHD, mentally impaired, physically handicapped) who attend so called integration classes
together with children who do not have special educational needs, provided with all possible
specialist support. Our efforts are aimed at creating friendly, motivating and stimulating environment
for every student in our school society. Variety of school clubs, the library and the common room play
active role in the school life. We provide students with opportunities to spend time before and after
school lessons in interesting, safe and valuable way (many parents commute to work to Warsaw,
they are out of home for more than 10 hours a day). We successfully participate in many programs,
projects and competitions. Now we would like to start international cooperation within K2 project. The
teachers are highly motivated and our students take successfully part in various school and after
school activities, trips, competitions (local, regional and national), we perform projects such as
school performances, exhibitions, concerts. We have taken part in two Comenius projects (2008-
2012), Time Machine (good European Practice award) and Art of Reading – Power of Creativity as
well as several eTwinning projects awarded with European Label. Two school ICT laboratories
provide students with hands on ICT experience with professional guidance. There is a robotics club,
an art club, School’s choir, a chess club and an eTwinning club active, among many other clubs at
present. The school coordinator, an English teacher, is an experienced international projects’
participant and coordinator, (at the moment developing her knowledge and skills about coding). The
teachers are highly professional, have general as well as very specific qualification and expertise (we
cater also for SEN students). Every teacher has at least basic ICT skills (we use an online register in
the school, every classroom has a computer with the internet. Multimedia are used to make process
of teaching and learning more attractive and efficient). Many teachers can use at least basic English,
many of them are intermediate and fluent, what will make our communication easy.
